Under Oregon law, psilocybin providers cannot diagnose or treat health conditions, make medical claims, operate within healthcare facilities, or exercise the privileges of licensed health professions
As an addiction physician new to OR and licensed in another state, I now understand why OR doctors are not diving into legalized psilocybin services. Instead Ketamine FDA approved off label for MH diagnoses receives over promotion (despite its notorious history as a problematic Rave Party drug). An OR bill decriminalizing drugs of abuse consumption during same time frame has not reduced medical and mental health harms (or crime) or funded access to CD treatment. Unclear whether legislation in CO, WA or MA will add clarity to limited conditions of use non-medically.
10/10.
Fantastic research to hold the emerging industry accountable. Thank you
